The Name's The Thing
This week Apple unveiled their new tablet computer with the unfortunate name, iPad. Unfortunate for two reasons. Reason number one, this video from 2007...
Reason number two, it's already owned by Fujitsu for this device.
Here are 10 name options that Apple could use for this device that based on a quick search of the USPTO database and google seem to be available. I tried to make sure they capture some feature or benefit of the device and avoid some of the problems of the current name.
- iLeaf
- iLight
- iLap
- iTab
- iVue/iView
- iFeather
- iLink
- iRun
- iCore
- iPeel
A few names from Ron, Van, John and others. Let the fun begin!
- iWant
- iRad
- iMoses
- iPatch
- iSore
I couldn't agree more with (a) the naming of this product, and (b) the clear lack of game-changing potential a larger-sized iTouch offers.
ReplyDeletePundits say Apple does not build niche products but rather products to be sold to tens of millions of consumers. I'm not sure how the iPad, without the ability to play Flash, will appeal to tens of millions.
Apple really didn't give me a compelling reason why I had to have the iPad. Without that I'm only mildly curious about the product.
